Preservation First

Scenicruiser PD-4501-0739 belongs to the Minnesota Transportation Museum in St. Paul, MN. A small group of volunteers is working on it and the initial task of completing some preservation took place this morning.

The four skylights have gasket material that has deteriorated over the years and one has cracked glass in addition. Plastic sheeting was applied and fastened after removing years of embedded material around the perimeter of each skylight, necessary for the tape to stick.

Next step: get some windows unstuck, lubricated and open to blow out the old and bring in fresh air before winter sets in.
